How to read this calendar

A simple question comes up in homeschool buying: when do publishers and retailers actually discount, so a purchase can wait for it? This page is a calendar of events that can be confirmed on a publisher’s or retailer’s own page, or on a dated announcement. Prices, percentages, and dates were retrieved in October 2026 unless an entry gives another date, and can change; the linked page is the source of record before any purchase.

Where to check what is live today

Each seller sets its own sale dates, so this calendar records dated events. These are first-party pages where the publishers and retailers named here post their current offers. Check the page, not the calendar, before any purchase.

• Christianbook. Current homeschool promotions appear on its homeschool page, which links to its current homeschool sale page.
• Sonlight. A standing Sales and Special Offers page lists the current promotions for Sonlight. Its All-Subjects Packages page lists “20% Off Entire Package” among what those packages include (retrieved October 2026).
• Master Books. Current windows post to its Sales & Special Offers page.
• The Good and the Beautiful. Active discounts and closeouts post to its Specials page.

January

No recurring homeschool curriculum sale is verified for January yet. The Good and the Beautiful’s Specials page (retrieved October 2026) lists a closeout on its current stock of Language Arts Level 4 (30% off) and Level 5 (20% off) that began January 6, 2026 and ran through February 16, 2026 or while supplies lasted. This calendar is updated as events are confirmed on first-party pages.

February

Christianbook ran a “We Love Homeschooling” sale in February 2026. The retailer’s sale page (retrieved October 2026) advertises up to 35% off retail on select curriculum and resources and gives an end date in the second week of February 2026.

March

The Good and the Beautiful: Early Bird sale. The publisher ran its Early Bird sale March 10 to 17, 2026, offering 15% off with code EARLY26, per its Specials page (retrieved October 2026), which on retrieval listed the sale as ended and listed no second Early Bird sale in 2026. The publisher’s directory entry is at The Good and the Beautiful.

The Good and the Beautiful also listed a closeout offer of 25% off select items that began February 17, 2026, “while supplies last,” per the Specials page (retrieved October 2026).

April

Master Books: April Early Bird Special. 30% off select products sitewide, plus free shipping on orders over $75 within the contiguous U.S., dated April 1 to 30, 2026 on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026), which notes that exclusions apply. The Master Books catalog includes a Young Earth category and titles such as The Young Earth.

May

Master Books Academy: Summer Sale. 10% off all-inclusive Master Books Academy courses with code SUMMER10, dated May 14 to 21, 2026 on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026). This applies to the Academy online courses rather than the full print catalog.

June

Master Books ran an additional 25% off select Master Books merchandise, including mugs, totes, and apparel, from June 23 to June 26, 2026, per its Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026). Sonlight’s Sales and Special Offers page is the place to check for any summer Sonlight promotions; it shows current offers and no fixed schedule, so the live page governs.

July

Master Books ran an additional 10% off eligible resources with code SUMMER10 from July 1 to July 31, 2026, plus free shipping on orders of $75 or more within the contiguous U.S., per its Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026). The page lists exclusions, including digital downloads, audiobooks, eBooks, Morning Basket bundles, lab kits and lab equipment, and MasterBooksAcademy.com classes.

August

Christianbook: Homeschool Sale of the Season. Christianbook’s homeschool page linked to its Homeschool Sale of the Season page in its August 11, 2026 capture. When read in October 2026, the sale page still showed a banner reading “Ends Today!” with no end date, so this calendar does not treat it as a current sale. In its August 22, 2026 capture the page showed an Abeka 20% off sale and a BJU 10% off sale. The homeschool page (retrieved October 2026) showed an Abeka Math 15% off sale when it was read; check that page for whatever is live now.

September

October

Amazon: Prime Big Deal Days 2026 (October 6 to 7). Amazon’s announcement (retrieved October 2026) sets the event for October 6 to 7, 2026, starting at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 and running 48 hours, with deals exclusive to Prime members and some early deals available before the event begins. Amazon’s deals page (retrieved October 2026) lists books, LEGO and MAGNA-TILES building sets, Hasbro and Mattel games, and Play-Doh and Kinetic Sand among the discounted categories, and describes the discounts as applying to select items. The book deals it names are page-to-screen picks and titles from Amazon’s Best Books of 2026 So Far, not curriculum titles. Amazon says a Prime membership is needed to shop all of the event’s deals and that anyone can join Prime or start a free 30-day trial if eligible, per the same announcement. This calendar records the event and Amazon’s stated categories only; it does not verify the discount on any individual product, which Amazon shows on its own listings.

Master Books: Big Deal Days clearance (2025). On October 7 to 8, 2025, Master Books ran a two-day clearance with items marked down as low as $0.99 and free shipping on orders of $75 or more to the contiguous U.S. The offer covered clearance products only, and clearance items were final sale, per the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026). The page lists no October 2026 dates as of October 15, 2026, so it is not a confirmed 2026 event. It is a separate sale on the publisher’s own site from Amazon’s event above.

The Good and the Beautiful: free shipping on orders of $75 or more (October 6 to 16, 2026). The publisher’s Specials page (retrieved October 2026) lists free shipping to U.S. addresses on orders of physical or digital products totaling $75 or more before taxes and shipping, placed between October 6, 2026 and October 16, 2026, with no coupon code required.

November

Master Books: Biggest Sale of the Year (2025). On November 12, 2025, Master Books ran a one-day sale of an extra 20% off select products, with a free canvas tote on orders of $300 or more while supplies lasted. Digital downloads, eBooks, lab kits, and MasterBooksAcademy.com classes were excluded, per the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026). The publisher’s own page labels this its biggest sale of the year. No 2026 date is posted there as of October 15, 2026. The 2025 promotion code is not listed here; the live page is the place to check for any 2026 code.

December

Master Books: Digital Monday (2025). On December 1, 2025, Master Books ran a one-day sale of 10% off digital products, covering digital curriculum, audiobooks, eBooks, and Academy supplemental courses and excluding physical merchandise, per the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved October 2026). It is a digital-only discount, narrower than the April and November sitewide sales. No 2026 date is posted as of October 15, 2026. The 2025 promotion code is not listed here; the live page is the place to check for any 2026 code.

Always-on: clearance and everyday pricing

Standing clearance pages are not tied to a sale date. They are worth checking before timing a purchase to a seasonal sale.

• Rainbow Resource clearance. Rainbow Resource Center runs a standing clearance section organized by subject, which states that “New clearance items are added weekly and inventory is limited so check back often!” (retrieved October 2026). In our assessment, because items are added weekly rather than on a sale date, it works as a continuous discount channel independent of any seasonal event.
• Master Books clearance and everyday pricing. Master Books has a Clearance page. Its Sales & Special Offers page points to it for year-round deals on curriculum and states that MasterBooks.com offers 20% off retail every day of the year (retrieved October 2026).
• All About Learning Press: announced by email and social media. Its FAQ directs customers to a promotion-details page, and the promotions page of All About Learning Press states that “Only orders placed during a promotion period are eligible for the promotion” and that all promotions are announced in its weekly email and on its Facebook and Instagram accounts. When retrieved in October 2026, the page showed no active promotion. The FAQ also states that third-party coupon-code sites are not affiliated with the company and that those codes are not valid. In Every Homeschool’s assessment, that is a reason to treat coupon-aggregator listings for any publisher with caution.

A note on timing your buy

In our assessment, three factors decide whether waiting for a sale pays off. The first is the size of the discount against the cost of waiting. The sales cited above differ widely: The Good and the Beautiful’s Early Bird sale took 15% off in March 2026, while Master Books’ April sale took 30% off select products. In our assessment, a larger discount on a larger order is where waiting is most likely to pay off. The second is stock. The Good and the Beautiful’s own Specials page shows current-edition discounts that end “when the current edition goes out of stock,” at which point the page says the updated edition is available at full price, per the Specials page (retrieved October 2026). Waiting past that point can mean paying full price for the updated edition.

The third factor is the used market. In our assessment, a lightly used copy bought between sales can beat a new copy bought on sale, depending on the title, the edition, and the condition. For All About Learning Press, the used market and the promotions announced in its weekly email and on Facebook and Instagram are, in our assessment, two routes worth checking for a lower price.
