Key takeaways
- 01One sale is live as of June 2026: Christianbook’s “Homeschool Sale of the Season,” up to 35% off featured curriculum, runs through August 12 per the Christianbook promotion page (retrieved June 2026).
- 02The biggest recurring publisher sale runs in spring. Master Books ran a 30%-off sitewide Early Bird sale April 1–30, 2026, and The Good and the Beautiful ran its Early Bird sale March 10–17, 2026. Both are dated on the publishers’ own pages. Neither is announced for a second run later in 2026 yet.
- 03November is the deepest discount window of the year for at least one publisher: Master Books lists its “Biggest Sale of the Year” on November 12, per its own sales page.
- 04Some publishers rarely run sitewide percentage sales at all. All About Learning Press states that its promotions are periodic, not continuous, and are announced by newsletter rather than posted as a standing schedule.
- 05Clearance is the always-on discount. Rainbow Resource and Master Books both run standing clearance sections that are restocked independently of any seasonal sale.
How to read this calendar
Homeschool families ask a simple question and rarely get a straight answer: when do publishers and retailers actually discount, so a purchase can wait for it? The question recurs on community boards, including a 2026 r/homeschool thread asking whether Christianbook.com runs predictable sales, where the asker received little concrete timing. This page is the answer Every Homeschool can stand behind: a calendar built only from events that can be confirmed on a publisher’s or retailer’s own page, or on a dated announcement.
Two rules govern every entry. A sale described as currently running is cited to the live sale page and dated to the month it was retrieved. A sale described as a recurring pattern is backed by at least one verifiable past instance and framed as a pattern, not a promise. Where a month has nothing that meets that bar, it says so plainly. Prices, percentages, and dates were retrieved June 2026 and can change; the linked page is the source of record before any purchase.
Live right now (June 2026)
One confirmed sale is running as this calendar is published.
- Christianbook — Homeschool Sale of the Season. Up to 35% off featured curriculum, listed as running through August 12. Featured discounts at retrieval included Apologia at 30% off, Saxon Math at 35% off, Math Mammoth at 25% off, and Wordly Wise at 35% off, per the Christianbook promotion page (retrieved June 2026). The featured list rotates, so confirm a specific title on the page before ordering.
Sonlight maintains a standing Sales and Special Offers page that lists whatever promotion is active. It is the page to check first for current Sonlight pricing, because its offers change through the year and are not published as a fixed annual schedule.
January
No recurring homeschool curriculum sale is verified for January yet. This calendar is updated as events are confirmed on first-party pages.
February
Christianbook has run a homeschool promotion in early February in addition to its later-season sale; the retailer’s “We Love Homeschooling” sale page documents a February event. Specific dates and discounts are set per year on that page, so it is the source to check in late January for the coming February window. No 2026 February event is currently posted there.
March
The Good and the Beautiful — Early Bird sale. The publisher ran its Early Bird sale March 10–17, 2026, offering 15% off with code EARLY26, per its Specials page (retrieved June 2026), which on retrieval listed the sale as ended. The Good and the Beautiful is classified in Every Homeschool’s taxonomy as LDS: founder Jenny Phillips is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as documented in the National LDS Homeschool Association’s review of the curriculum. The company markets its materials as faith-centered without naming a denomination on its author page. The pattern to note: the publisher’s deepest sitewide discount has landed in mid-March. It is not yet announced for a second 2026 run.
The Good and the Beautiful also listed a closeout offer of 25% off select items that began February 17, 2026, “while supplies last,” per the same Specials page (retrieved June 2026).
April
Master Books — April Early Bird Special. 30% off select products sitewide, plus free shipping on orders over $75, dated April 1–30, 2026 on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved June 2026), which notes that exclusions apply. This is the single largest sitewide window Master Books posts in the spring. Master Books is the publishing line aligned with young-earth creation content: its own catalog sells titles such as The Young Earth and a dedicated young-earth apologetics category. The April sale ran sitewide with exclusions, so it is the strongest planned-purchase window for families committed to that line.
May
Master Books Academy — Summer Sale. 10% off all-inclusive Master Books Academy courses with code SUMMER10, dated May 14–21, 2026 on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved June 2026). This applies to the Academy online courses rather than the full print catalog.
June
Christianbook’s Homeschool Sale of the Season is live through August 12 (see Live right now above), which puts June squarely inside a confirmed retailer discount window. Sonlight’s Sales and Special Offers page is the place to check for any summer Sonlight and BookShark promotions; both are sibling literature-based programs from the same company. No standing June schedule is published for either, so the live page governs.
July
No recurring publisher sale is independently verified for July yet, beyond the Christianbook season sale that runs into August. Back-to-school promotions typically appear in late summer; this calendar adds them as publishers post dated pages.
August
Christianbook — Homeschool Sale of the Season closes. The current season sale runs through August 12 per the promotion page (retrieved June 2026). August is the close of the confirmed summer retailer window rather than its start, which matters for timing: waiting past mid-August forfeits the verified discount.
September
No recurring homeschool curriculum sale is verified for September yet. This calendar is updated as events are confirmed.
October
Master Books — Big Deal Days clearance. Items marked down “as low as $0.99” with free shipping on orders over $75, dated October 7–8, 2025 on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved June 2026). This ran as a two-day clearance event in 2025; it is not yet announced for 2026, and it is listed here as a pattern to watch rather than a confirmed 2026 date.
November
Master Books — Biggest Sale of the Year. An extra 20% off select products plus a free tote with orders over $300, dated November 12, 2025 with code MERRYCHRISTMAS on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved June 2026). The publisher’s own page labels this its largest sale, which makes mid-November the deepest verified Master Books discount window. It ran in November 2025; a 2026 date is not yet posted.
December
Master Books — Digital Monday. 10% off digital items and supplemental courses with code CYBER2025, dated December 1, 2025 on the Master Books Sales & Special Offers page (retrieved June 2026). This is a digital-only discount, narrower than the spring and fall sitewide events. It ran in December 2025 and is listed here as a pattern, not a confirmed 2026 date.
Always-on: clearance and everyday pricing
Two discount channels do not follow a calendar at all. They are worth checking before timing a purchase to a seasonal sale.
- Rainbow Resource clearance. Rainbow Resource Center runs a standing clearance sectionorganized by subject, which states that “new clearance items are added weekly and inventory is limited so check back often.” Because it restocks weekly rather than on a sale date, it functions as a continuous discount channel independent of any seasonal event (retrieved June 2026).
- Master Books clearance and flash sales. Master Books runs a standing clearance pageof “scratch and dent” items and flash sales, with individual titles discounted off list price at the time of retrieval (retrieved June 2026). These run independently of the dated seasonal events above.
- All About Learning Press — periodic, newsletter-driven. All About Learning Press does not run a standing percentage schedule. Its FAQ directs customers to a promotion-details page, and its promotions pagestates that “only orders placed during a promotion period are eligible” and points families to its email newsletter for announcements rather than publishing a fixed calendar (retrieved June 2026). The FAQ also warns that third-party coupon-code sites are not affiliated with the company and that those codes are not valid, which is a reason to treat coupon-aggregator listings for any publisher with caution.
A note on timing your buy
Three factors decide whether waiting for a sale pays off. The first is the size of the verified discount against the cost of waiting. A 15% to 35% sitewide sale is meaningful on a full grade-level package; on a single $20 workbook the savings rarely justify holding an order for weeks. The second is stock. Updated editions and popular grade levels sell through during sales, and The Good and the Beautiful’s own Specials page shows current-edition discounts that end “when the current edition goes out of stock,” per the Specials page (retrieved June 2026). Wait too long and the order can lose the edition along with the discount.
The third factor is the used market. Many homeschool programs hold resale value, and a lightly used copy bought between sales can beat a new copy bought on sale. That trade-off is title-specific and depends on whether the edition has changed; consumable workbooks have no used market, while non-consumable readers and teacher guides do. For programs that rarely discount, such as All About Learning Press, the used market and the newsletter-announced promotion are usually the only two routes to a lower price.
This calendar reflects verified instances only and is updated as new sales are confirmed on first-party pages. For families comparing the publishers named here, the Abeka vs BJU Press vs Sonlight comparison covers list pricing and scope, and the full curriculum directorylinks to each publisher’s detail page.
