How to Start Homeschooling in Nevada (2026)
Nevada requires a parent who wishes to homeschool a child to file a written notice of intent with the superintendent of schools of the district of residence, and the notice includes an educational plan for the child (NRS 388D.020 and 388D.050).
Legal framework
Under NRS 392.070, enrollment and attendance required by NRS 392.040 are excused when a parent of the child chooses to provide education to the child and files a notice of intent to homeschool the child with the superintendent of schools of the school district in which the child resides, in accordance with NRS 388D.020.
